Colombia played a pretty important part during the industrial revolution and will always stand out when discussing about the topic. People here migrated to different countries like America, Germany, and Europe. populations of people all over the world have increased by hundreds of thousands. Countries that used to have maybe 2 million people now approximately have about 10 million people. The population increase in the United States increased by about 3%, meanwhile Europe and Germany's populations increased by about 1%. Even though it may not seem like a lot, populations back then were not that big in the first place.
THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
The industrial revolution was a very important time period between the 18th and 19th century where places among Europe and America became an industrial and urban society. This period started in Great Britain and later spread to other countries through migration, which played an important role in this process along with urbanization. Before the industrial revolution started people were using simple machines and homemade hand tools, as a result of this period these countries were able to mass produce by using special machinery and other advanced technologies that were invented. The more important results of the industrial revolution had to deal with iron and textile industries as well as the invention of the steam engine, which helped a lot with transportation and communication of people, goods, etc. The industrial revolution helped create a better life for a majority of the people at this time, however it didn't provide that much happiness towards the poor and the working class considering the fact that they were the main ones doing all of the work for the benefit of others. Many unprivileged men, women, AND children were forced to work in all of the terrible conditions of the dangerous factories in order to even think about surviving. At this point in time it was very challenging for them especially for the children, 20% of which were younger than the age of 15. Also, with all of the new people migrating there was lots of chaos and disorder which increased the original amount of disease that was present and made it very unsanitary for any human being to live in. However, towards the end of the 19th century things started to calm down and life was slowly but surely getting better and even though the industrial revolution had its ups and downs in society it still managed to make the world a better place...at least for a little while.
